About
Primal Tracking was founded in 2015 to solve a simple problem: how do organisers safely and effectively follow participants when an event spreads across huge distances?
A decade on, we’ve tracked thousands of participants across Ireland and the UK — from the Art O’Neill Challenge in the depths of January to multi-day ultras, gravel races, Duke of Edinburgh expeditions and solo mountain rounds.
We understand events, not just equipment
Tracking technology is only worth anything when it’s built around the real needs of the event. Primal Tracking combines GPS tracking and timing systems with hands-on event experience — which is why our advice covers tracker numbers, checkpoint positions, cut-off logic, public-versus-private maps and event control workflows, not just battery life. We’ve stood on start lines and run the routes ourselves, and it shows in how we set events up.
Our Mission
To make challenging events easier to manage and better to follow — giving organisers better visibility, participants a safer experience, and spectators a more engaging way to follow the event from anywhere.
How we Work
Practical — solutions built around the event, not just the technology. Honest — we’ll tell you what tracking can’t do as readily as what it can. Reliable — preparation, testing and clear event-day processes. Experienced — a decade of events, all publicly visible on our results platform.
